Danielle Swain Lewis is a native of Las Vegas, where she began taking violin lessons as a Suzuki student at age 5. She studied under the tutelage of Mary Straub, a founding member of the Nevada School of the Arts. Danielle graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2012 followed by a Master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Utah in 2014. Her teachers have included Ralph Matson, Barbara Williams and Monte Belknap.

Danielle attended the Aspen Music Festival in the summers of 2006 and 2011, where she studied with Connie Heard, David Perry and Won-Bin Yim. She has also placed in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competition, receiving Honorable Mention in the Young Artist Strings Southwest Division in 2014 and 2012, and 1st Alternate in 2008. She currently performs with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra.

Since studying at BYU, Danielle has taught violin privately and in group classes. She has supplemented her teaching with Suzuki Teacher Training for books 1-5, receiving training from Patricia D’Ercole, Allen Lieb and Denise Willey.
